M360 College Prep 17u
Performance & Preparation
The 17U program is designed for high school athletes stepping into the most competitive stage of junior golf. Here, the focus isn’t just on performance — it’s on preparing athletes to manage stress, adapt under pressure, and solve problems like elite performers. Players are challenged to become accountable leaders, capable of adjusting to whatever the game demands while keeping their composure.
Athletes develop:
- Self-regulation under pressure — staying composed, adaptable, and present in high-stakes moments
- The ability to reflect deeply and honestly on performance, extracting lessons without self-criticism
- Advanced preparation skills: tournament scheduling, practice planning, and game-day readiness
- Leadership, accountability, and ownership of their training and mindset
- Confidence in their identity as athletes, equipped with tools that serve them in golf and life
- Advanced problem-solving: creating strategies, managing adversity, and making smart decisions when the stakes are highest
Focus Areas:
- Individualized performance plans based on player goals (college prep, tournament success, or team contribution)
- Intensive technical and competitive group training that mirrors tournament pressure
- Mental performance systems including focus training, doubt management, and visualization
- Speed and strength development to keep pace with the modern game
- Advanced on-course strategies, including analytics, DECADE system, and situational decision-making
- Tournament readiness frameworks: scouting courses, planning routines, and debriefing effectively
M360 17u athletes grow into adaptable, resilient competitors who not only swing with precision but think, respond, and lead at the highest level.

Steve Schreck
Steve grew up in Winnetka and played golf at New Trier High School. A Purdue University graduate, Steve has been a part of TGP’s junior programs since he joined the academy in 2019.
His main coaching influences are George Gankas and Adam Young. The two differ in their approach to the swing, but Steve believes a blend of both styles—internal vs. external mindset, for one—proves to be most successful for his junior and adult students.
Like our entire staff, the impact golf has had on Steve is immeasurable, from the hours spent outside bonding with friends and family to the experiences and characteristics he’s gained and uses in his everyday life.
